CHILD PROTECTION COMMUNITY

(C.P.C.)

     Child Protection Community  (C.P.C.) has been established in the year 2005

Syria –Homs.

Its activities include:

- Child protection from violence i. e. corporal, moral, sexual

and domestic.

 - Child protection from vagrancy and labour exploitation.

How Are The (C.P.C.) ^,s Targets Achieved ?
 

I
 

1-Theough guidance ,orientation and rehabilitation programs,

in the field of child rights and education ,

for families i.e. through lectures ,

symposiums and meetings as well as media campaigns

( Radio stations , TV channels , newspapers and magazines).

2- Through the publication of pamphlets

about the child pedagogy and protection .

3- Through a program for the rehabilitation of parents ,

abusing ones , and for the treatment

of psychological problems ensuing from abuse or violence .

Such a program will help the offending parents to

learn how to modify their conduct .

4- Through the preparation of

training courses about child rights,

by educational supervisors at schools and by

psychologists employed by the (C.P.C.)

showing how to deal with children and how to

apply disciplinary methods void of corporal punishment .

This can be achieved through the assistance of experts in this field .

Ensuring income for offended families due to the breadwinner absence , if the breadwinner is the offender , up to the termination of rehabilitation period .

Ensuring income for poor families , when it is confirmed that they have no breadwinner , so that a child will not be obliged to work or to be a vagrant .

 Trying to ensure employment for one of the parents

when it is confirmed that they are unemployed and that their unemployment

has led to the labor exploitation or the vagrancy  of their children .

Treating the corporal and psychological damages

suffered by children when exposed to violence .

Enlightening  the children about their human rights,

to guarantee that they know about them, through schools ,

child theaters , child clubs ,television and internet ,

the (C.P.C.) web site .

Taking efficient and confidential measures for

receiving the complaints sent to the (C.P.C.)

and guaranteeing that and independent external authority

shall investigate the said complaints quickly and sufficiently .

Co-operating with juvenile centers ,

schools ,women unions , hospitals and health centers

for the purpose of obtaining a comprehensive survey

of all violence cases , which children might suffer ,

and treating such cases .

Establishing a recreational social club for

children up to 18 years of age ,

which helps to develop children ^,s skills

and initiatives in all fields as well as

to integrate the abused children

With those not abused as a basic treatment method

for the purpose of elevating children ^,s morale

and boosting their self-confidence under the supervision of experts.

Co-operating and coordinating with all concerned ministries

and entities for the purpose of ensuring

the utmost protection for children .

  Co-operating and coordinating with all Arab ,

local , and international organizations ,

interested in child protection ,

for the purpose of exchanging experiences and experiments

so that the optimum target is fulfilled and (C.P.C.) ^,s goals are achieved.
